2018-2019 Superintendent’s Welcome

Dear District 30 Parents,

The 2018-2019 school year promises to be an incredible year! On behalf of the entire District 30 Board of Education and staff, I extend a warm welcome to all within our District 30 Family. District 30 exists to create a community that craves learning, fosters resiliency, and cares deeply for every child. I have lived in District 30 for over a decade. As I enter my fourth year serving as the Superintendent of District 30, I continue to cherish my opportunities to connect with and support our parents, students, and staff. I consider it a privilege to serve this district and our communities. We have an invested Board of Education, talented administrators and staff, and outstanding students.

I applaud our Board of Education for collaboratively setting Board Goals that maintain focus on instructional practices and facilities that support child-centered learning and intellectual growth within our classrooms. There continues to be an emphasis on strengthening our children’s character through the Character Counts! organization, with its supportive programs and motivational contests.

District 30 will also unveil a new standards-based Maple School report card this year that has been revised over the last two years. We also look forward to our new partnership with the Quest food service, which also serves the Glenbrooks.

Our teachers have been busy throughout the summer preparing for the new school year, and we continue to make significant progress on the new Maple School. Our inclusive work has generated designs for our new innovative, flexible, and responsible middle school. Construction remains on schedule and within budget. Please follow our progress on our facilities website: http://d30facilities.org. The goal remains to occupy the new Maple School in the fall of 2019.

We remain committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all students attending Maple, Wescott, and Willowbrook Schools. I invite each of you to stay connected and involved in your child’s education. Together we can look forward to seeing our children achieve, succeed, and grow!
