Optimism is essential to achievement, and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.

Dear District 30 Parents,
Today, our annual District 30 Winter Sing was inspiring. Seeing all of our students and staff together enjoying the many talents of our students reminded me of how fortunate we are in District 30. As we wrap up 2018, I invite you to reflect on another great year. We have terrific students, talented staff, involved families, and a supportive Board of Education and community. District 30’s year has again generated impressive student academic achievement, and we have also committed to service through our participation in the successful food, coat, and toy drives, and by supporting our 18th annual Lew Blond Run!
I am also proud of the continued progress being made on the new Maple School. Thank you to our leadership team and to the many members of our staff, board, and community who have provided input into this important project. As a result of this collaboration, our flexible, state-of-the-art facility remains on schedule and within budget! We are excited for our students and staff to begin enjoying the benefits of this new facility in the fall of 2019!
Finally, thank you for helping us generate the gift of hope for the future. We live in extraordinary, but challenging times. Keeping a focus on developing independent, good people who can achieve in this demanding world remains a powerful compass for my life, District 30, and our community. I am eternally optimistic about the future because I know that our students will continue to grow into caring and capable people who will multiply our efforts for good.
As we finish our last week of school in 2018, I wish you a peaceful winter break with meaningful time with your loved ones. Thank you for your care and support. Here’s to a fantastic 2019!
