this is just weird. why wouldnt the people just walk up the stairs of the escalator. the video is right, these problems are easy to solve. if i were those people, i would just keep going up by walking. it means to me that these people are lazy and they only go on escalators. i would never be one of those people.

it means to me that some proplems are very easy when you think about and not just panic.

Can we add some more to these ideas? I wonder, what is the message of this video? What can we learn from watching it as a person?

That was so funny. Although, during the entire video I was wondering why weren’t they using the escalator as stairs. Also why they were screaming for help and no one came.

Adrian, what is the actual message here. Literally yes, they are silly. They can just walk up or down to get off. Looking at this video for the
“lesson” or theme, would could it be?

I don’t get why the people made it so dramatic. I mean the could’ve acted like the escalator turned into stairs or something. If I was in that situation I would walk up or down the escalator so simply. Even when I’m on escalators normally. I still walk up while I’m on the moving flatform. This is a dramatic video. If the two people didn’t freak out or think it was so bad they could’ve just walked up the escalator like a normal reaction would be and then after your done doing what you were doing you would go down the escalator and tell a person who works there. I don’t know why someone would stop and just call for help. It makes me feel like they are glued to the escalator and when your supposed to get off the glue comes off

Good connection with the glue. But really, are they for real? I know tons of kids who know how to get off an escalator. Honestly! Can’t someone learn some common sense here? This video can help people learn common sense and to be independent sometimes. Yeah. If they didn’t freak out, they could’ve stayed normal and everything would’ve been fine. Why were they in a mall or something or whatever place if no one is there? That makes no sense.
      *Sigh*
Sometimes we all need to gather our thoughts, collected and calm, and not crazy. If you are crazy, you start mimicking, you start using that smart brain of yours that you have, and actually think for once. Isn’t that more effective than screaming your head off like: “AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me!!!”

    View September 19, 2017

If I were one of those people I would just climb up and tell somebody. Like a normal person would do.

I was really at shock when the 2 people started screaming for help. Litterley all you have to do is walk up the escalator. People are so lazy. I pretty much got the theme pretty quickly. I think it is “life isn’t going to always give you everything, sometimes you need to us e that smart mind of yours and figure things out yourself.” When the person came over to fix the escalator, the 2 people started mimicking him. Have some respect for the man! All he was trying to do was help. I know they were in a tough position, but it is the thought that counts. Those are my thoughts on this video.

I don’t understand what these two people were doing. One said they were late. Then why don’t they go up the escalator if there in a hurry

These characters are acting sort of weird and they act like they know what to do. Really? Call for help. They sounded like a cotastrophy was happening and they might lose their lives. Instead they are acting like that when only an escalator stopped. Are you kidding?

Roan, I wonder if this is the best choice of reflections you can do. Again, think about the message and the theme.

What the heck is the janitor doing. “Oh I can fix it” but he can’t because the escalator stopped he can but he doesn’t think he can walk up stairs.

Roan, I wonder if this video is meant to be sarcastic a bit? I think you are reflecting on the literal. What is the “real” message by watching this?

    Wow. Wow wow wow.
Sometimes, it just makes me sad to see how the society has changed from the hard working America… to what? These people were just lazy! They could’ve just walked up the escalator. Think of it as stairs. This video defines a really good lesson: “The world doesn’t revolve around you”. The janitor was doing his best, but then he got lackadaisical. Really, people! You can do better than that. Also, if you don’t want to go up the escalator, walk down, and use a REAL set of stairs. They shouldn’t have “nervously laughed” at the janitor. Don’t they know that that can be pressuring? This video also shows; other than the theme; that some problems are quite simple to solve. The two people were acting queer. How could they not have noticed the escalator could be used as stairs? This really really shocked me, that people are just lazy and depend on others for help so much that it’s like they have “human crutches”. I just hope that other people aren’t like these two and have sense to use their surroundings for answers. They’re oblivious; mostly to reality. JUST USE THE ESCALATOR AS STAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atchaya, this is such a wonderful example of how these people were helpless. You are right, they made the problem into something so complex! When in reality, it was a simple solution.

Wow, Atchaya. What an amazing and sophisticated answer.

This video is telling me that people are lazy. They could walk up the escalator. But if you get stuck on a elevator that’s a different story. But also the guy that is going to fix it, he got stuck too. But I think if he knew how to fix an escalator than he would be smart enough to get up a walk. And why would they be there at night, should there be security and people to help?? And the only thing they did smart was hold the rail because if they didn’t they would fall back and hurt themselves.

I think the message of this video is not to count on other people and if there is a problem try to solve it with out relying on some one else. This video is quite strange because the main characters are standing on an escalator that are stairs and they don’t use them as just stairs. These people are just really lazy and want to put their problems on someone else’s shoulder’s and do nothing about the situation. This was not that big of a problem they just handled it in a dramatic way that made it seem as if they were in a life or death situation.

That was kind of funny! Why wouldn’t they just walk up them as stairs? At Northbrook Court I have seen people without the escalator stuck walk up it. Once you walk up it, there is usually a button on either side that says “Emergency Start” press that! I think the message of this is that some problems are easier to solve than you think. They were yelling for someone and then gave up! Another message is Never give up. That is usually a thing everyone says and it’s in most fictional and non fictional books but still. Overall, this was really fun homework!

I honestly are just soooo confused right now. I would like to speak sith ghise people on the escalator. I would like to ask them a bunch of questions. One of them would be why didn’t you just walk up? What did you think was going to happen? I also would ask why are you guys being so rude to the guy the comes to try to help you? They were super lazy and someone tried to help you even though you are super lazy and you are mean. Finally I am confused on if the guy that tried to fix it new how to buy messed up doesn’t he know how escalators work? Doesn’t he at least know it is safe to walk up and down it and use it like stairs when it is broken? This whole video just made me think… who do people think they are? It seems almost like they can’t walk up stairs and have to do in like “next gen style.” Those are my thoughts on the video.

It is embarrassing for me to admit that I have been in similar situations myself in the past. I was stuck with a problem, that I thought was difficult. Instead of searching for an answer myself, I just waited for a handout. It is still a work in progress, but that situation taught me to become more proactive and resourceful.

That was surprising, they could have just walked up the escalator and tell someone instead of just standing there and yelling for help. The video is right these problems are to easy to figure out.
