Mitchell Museum of the American Indian
Dear bloggers,
We have been studying the American Indians. We all became experts on one tribe and did a presentation to show what we learned. Today we went to the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian. We learned about the five different culture areas and did an art project with beads! What are three things that you learned at the museum today?
Sincerely,
Ms. Gomberg

3 things I learned is that in the great planes if you do something good you get a eagle feather. In the planes they built birch bark canoes. There are native americans that still live and learn about their ancestors and follow some traditions.

Three things I leaned are the southwest used to be covered by water. The red in the southwest’s jewelry is coral. And if you do something good in the plains you get a eagle feather.

3 things I learned today is that if you do something good you get an eagle feather. The second thing I learned is that if there are dangerous rapids in a river you pick up your boat and walk around the rapids. The third thing I learned is that if you soak wood you can shape the wood into what you need.

Three things I learned at the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian were 1 if you did somthing good for your community like if you did not have a family and you caught 5 buffalo and you only needed two and you had a neighbor that had 3 or 4 children and you gave them the three you fin not need you would get an eagle feather. the 2nd thing I leared that the Native Americans trated the Europenans beaver furs for glass beads to decorate their clothing and shoes. 3rd I learned how to make a key chain.

At the museum, I learned that the canoe is very light so they can carry it across dangerous rapids. It is also made of birch bark.If you do something very good for the tribe then you receive an eagle feather as a reward. If you earn enough and make a head dress people will respect you.It takes about a lifetime to earn enough to make a head dress. I also learned that they made string from animal ligaments. Finally learned that in some regions glass beads are very hard to get. I learned a lot of awesome and cool!
