I loved the grove! My favorite thing to do at the grove is sawing, watching the chickens, building a cabin, using the tools, and seeing the animals.
It is fun?????
We had a lot of fun at the Grove. We saw a lot of things that the pioneers used and lived in. We also went in to the log cabin and tried out some tools that the pioneers used. ?
I love the way we learned about the how to use chamberpot.
That is really gross?
It is so disgusting that they take a bath using the same water! That is so weird.????
I loved trying to get the pin into the jug. I love the Grove. It was so much FUN. I loved trying the 2 man saw and trying to make the house. It is SO FUN.
The grove was a blast. My favorite part was when we did the tools. My favorite tool was the the dig saw. You have to sit on top of a dig log and the people at The Grove helped use you the saw. We put the saw on top of the wood and pushed the saw sack and forth, dack and forth. The grove was so much fun and I can’t even wait for fifth grade.
I loved the Grove! What really interested me was the two man saw. I liked it beacause it was really difficult and I do not know how the pioneers did that all their life.
I learned that chinking helped the wood house become sturdy. Children and adults all helped around the house. For the door, pioneers used animal skin. I thought that when the dad could feel the coldness with his foot in the fireplace was awesome! I liked it when we built log cabins without chinking!
It is cool that they took that cabin from another state. It was made in the 1800s.
I liked the activities the best . My favorite activity was building the log cabin. A historian would find this interesting because a Native American tribe (Potawatomi) were there about 150 years ago. An economist would find this interesting because he would want to know how much money the house would cost if it was in 2015. A geographer would want to know why the Potawatomi chose this spot. Like why not Indiana? A political scientist would find this interesting because the Grove saves long ago land.
Today at the grove I learned why girls go first and why boys go last.
I learned about all the tools like the saw(scary). Two man saw is what it’s called.
I learned that the toilet is not just a hole, it’s a chamber pot.
One for a girl one for a boy.
It was probably hard work for the people.
I think it was fun, and I can’t wait to go next year.
I have learned so much today, like the chamber pot. Can you believe the last one sleeping has to clean the pot!??. I love all the activities. My favorite one is the two man saw – so much work!?. I can’t believe that they have to do this work EVERY DAY!??? I am so lucky we have comforts like air conditioning!
