Example:  Jane really had the gift of gab.  Whenever he spoke, people would listen for hours.


What does “keep a stiff upper lip” mean?

Example: When Sara got in trouble for arriving to work late, she kept a stiff upper lip.


What does “sell like hotcakes” mean?

Example: The chocolate flavored jelly beans were selling like hotcakes during sixth grade lunch.
