In science today we were using a Alka-Seltzer pill and we put it in water. All of the powder dissolved and it broke into pieces. When it broke it looked like sprite soda. It was SO bubbly. I learned that a solid can turn into a liquid.
Today we took notes about a solid and liquids. Then Ms.Stamoudis gave us a solid it was white, small, and chalky. Then Ms.Stamoudis gave us a liquid. It was bubbly, clear, and it was wet. After that we put the solid in the liquid the liquid changed!!! I learned that a solid can change to a liquid and a liquid can become to a solid.
Matter is fun! We learned about a Solid and a Liquid. Liquid dissolved in the water. On January 21 we had a partner. We made an observations with Solid and Liquid. First we looked at Solid-tablet, and than, We put it into water, than tablet exploded in water like volcano!!! It was so cool! I learned that a Solid can turn into liquid.
On January 21st, we did a science experiment. We put our science caps on. We used a magnifying glass to look at our solid and our liquid. We were divided into partners,we got to put a solid (Alka – Seltzer) into the liquid (water). Then their were lots of bubbles in the cup! It was so cool! It looked like sprite. Next, it dissolved. It was a cool experiment! I learned that if you put Alka Seltzer into water, the water will start to bubble while the Alka Seltzer was dissolving.
Today, we did our first experiment! I was partners with my friend Amber. First, Ms. Stamoudis gave us a solid. It smelled like viniger. After we experimented the solid, Ms. Stamoudis gave us all a liquid. Ms. Stamoudis let us put the solid into the liquid. Then solid dissolved into the container, and she letted us look it up really close with a magnifine glass. That was our expirement!! It was really exiting doing our first expirement.
We put our science caps on. Then we used a magnify glass to look at our solid and liquid. I found that our solid is in the shape of a circle it’s white feels like chalk and had the words AIKA-SElTZER on it. I learned that a solid can turn into a liquid.
Today we talked about solid and liquid. We did a experimetn. Our liquid was water it was clear, it had bubeles, and our solid was a tablet it was round, not flexible, also chalkey. When I put the solid in, all of the bubbles went to the top of the water. I learned that a solid can turn in to a liquid.
Today we did some fun experiments! The first one we did was study a solid. Then we did the same thing but with a liquid. (Water). After, we combined those two materials! And all of a sudden…The water turned white! Bubbles went flying up! Then, after one or two minutes, it finally stopped. I learned a lot of things from this experiment. But the most important thing I learned was how a solid dissolves.
On January 21, 2016 we did our first experement on matter. We looked at solids and liquids with magnify glasses. The solid was a small tablet that was round, white, smooth on one side and had the words Alka-Setzer on it. The tablet dissolved in water and bubbles started rising. I learned that a solid can turn into a liquid. I think that the next experement will be how water can turn into ice. I can’t wait for the next experement!!
Today I am going to tell you about our science experiment!!! I was partners with Alex!!! Our solid was Alka seltzer!!! So we looked at the at the solid and the color was white!!! The shape was round and it looked like a circle!!! It was not flexible!!! It smelled like vinegar scent!!! One of the sides were smooth and the other side was bumpy!!! It was kind of chalky!!! It was kind of small!!! Our liquid was water from the sink!!! It looked kind of clear!!! The water takes the shape of the cylinder container!!! The water fells cold!!! You can see through the water!!! The water is wet!!! I predict that were going to do something with the ice!!!
On January 21,2016 we put on our science caps on. We used a magnify glass to look at our solid and liquid. Our Solid is round, powdery, has vinegar scent, its chalky, white and small. A liquid has , clear, feels cold, see through it and its wet. I think the water will turn into ice cubes.I learned that a solid can turn into a liquid and the solid dissolved.I liked the experiment that we made.
This week we started our second unit of science, matter. First we identify a solid, a liquid and the changes. The next day we got a tablet called alka-seltker that was our solid. Our liquid was water. Then Ms. Stamoudis let us put the tablet in the water. The water was bubbling up! It was so cool! I think tomorrow
I think tomorrow we will be melting the ice with heat.
On January 21st we learnd about matter! First we talked about solids and liquids. We put are science brains on!! Today we did are first experiment!!!!! we looked at an Alka-seltzer. Then we looked at the liquid. After that we put the solid in the liquid . The solid dissolved and it looked like sprite. There were atone of bubbles in the cup expishily at the top. Before we put the solid in the liquid felt kind of cold. My partner was Annika. Everybody and I learnd that if you put a liquid in a solid that will dissolve!! We put water in a ice cube tray and brought it to the nersess ofice or ethier that or brought it to the teachers lounge. I predict that we will do an actifty with an ice cube tray because we put it in right after are experimet with solids and liquids. I think they took it to the nerses ofice probbly because i saw them walking down when I was geting my snack. THE END
A few days ago our class learned about our new unit in science matter. Today we did our first science project.Ms.Stamoudis first gave each of us our solid ,it was in a shape of a circle,it was white ,and in the middle of the circle
Alka-Seltzer was printed .We took a magnify glass and noticed things. Then ms.Stamoudis gave us our liquid which was water we did the same thing with the magnify glass.Next we dropped the tablet into the cup of water and it dissolved just as I had predicted and also it was fizzing up . It was so cool.
We put our caps on. We used a magnify glass to look at our solid and liquid. I found that our solid is in the shape of a circle, it’s white, feels like chalk and had the words Alka-Seltzer on it. The Alka-Seltzer dissolved and made big bubbles and turned the water white. I learned that a solid can turn into a liquid. Tommorow i think that we will melt the ice that Ms.Stamoudis froze.
Wow! I am impressed with all of the cool things you are doing in science. I teach 5th grade at Willowbrook School and love looking at other blogs. Solids and liquids can be very interesting to study. Did you know that the oxygen that we breath can be in a liquid form? Someone from your class research that and let me know what temperature it would have to be to make oxygen turn into a liquid.
Hello, Mr. Karnoscak! We are thrilled that you looked at and read our class blog. We just got done reading your post. We are going to do some research this weekend and find out what temperature it would have to be to make oxygen turn into a liquid. Enjoy your weekend!
